Sinclair Broadcast Group: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

Sinclair Broadcast Group is the largest owner of local TV stations in the country. That’s alarming considering that they often inject political views into local news.

  1. The whole ‘snowflake’ thing is just hilarious to me. I mean, who tried to ban Life of Brian? Who was utterly flabbergasted when a black woman wanted to sit down on a bus? Who still rants and raves about the supposed Gay Agenda? ‘Cause it ain’t Gen Z leftists.

  2. Now I just think Tom Holland did The Devil All The Time and Cherry just to get John Oliver to stop calling him a twerp. That’s Tobey Maguire, John. Tobey Maguire is a twerp.

  3. The "left owns the media" is a funny narrative considering all the major stations are owned by right wing corporations that hand-pick their talking points.

  4. democrats founded the KKK. Only two people in the government switched parties, and the democrats conned blacks into voting for them with welfare, which has resulted in modern day everlasting poverty in african american areas. Democrats haven't changed shit, all talk, no results.

  5. What that historian is referring to is called the Great Party Switch. When political parties switched their names. But not their geography or political positions. There is a reason the south is mostly ran by the Republicans today. There once was progressive Republicans and conservatives Democrats Back in the day.
It is intellectually deceptive to claim the new Democratic party is the same as old gaurd "Dixiecrats."

  6. In Rhode Island where I live, Sinclair owns our local NBC affiliate (Channel 10/WJAR-TV), and shortly after they took it over you started to see those Boris Epshteyn "editorials,: Due to the backlash against Epshteyn, he now no longer appears on air for Sinclair. They also air a newsmagazine which is little more than a right wing version of 60 Minutes, hosted by a woman named Sharyl Atkisson. Sinclair also owns TV channels like MeTV, Comet and TBD, and until recently even owned their own pro wrestling federation, Ring of Honor.

  7. If I remember correctly, Boris Epshteyn is the man who created the whole "Joe the Plumber" thing for Sarah Palin, because she wasn't intelligent enough to come up with her own talking points and for her tendency to go off script when she was John McCain's VP pick.
